There has been a lot of chatter about Google’s latest attempt to clean up its search results. The “Fred” update hit on or around the 8th of March 2017 and ever since experts have been debating about what was the main aim and who are the victims: SEO Round Table, Web Text Tool, Cognitive SEO as just a few examples.
Make Money Online
Hate them. Why send one e-mail when you can send 15? Just because you’ve made some changes to how you operate you REALLY don’t need a personal response from me to tell you how great you are, especially if in the last 8 years you’ve paid me a total of about £23! The affiliate relationship should be dead simple, if I make you money then I make money. The more I make you the more I make. IF I can find somebody else to promote who I can make more money from then that’s where my loyalty falls, to myself and making money, sorry about that. There is no client relationship here so please stop pretending there is, in the same way I don’t work for your company and we’re not doing each other favours! More importantly if your employer is not making money then neither am I. Whilst you as an affiliate manager get your salary no matter what, the affiliate doesn’t. So please remember that when you’re firing off you 18th e-mail of the day about something that doesn’t really concern me pushing for a reply, feedback, comment, praise or whatever the hell else you want.
This is going to be a bit of a rambling post but I thought it was time enough to bring everything up to date in a mind dump sort of way so here goes.
Back around 2005/2006 when Blogging was really taking off there was a phase where everybody got in to language translation. Automated translation tools were all over the place. What was seen as a massive SEO boost was quickly shot down by Google who found it very easy to detect the often badly auto translated pages. Ever since there have been a few attempts at making a SEO friendly translation tool but none have really succeeded. So me being me I decided to take what was the best of a bad bunch and get it actually working. If you’ve tried using Transposh but are getting duplicated titles, descriptions and any other number of “HTML Improvements” appearing in your Google webmaster tools then this post is for you!
If you’ve been hanging around my Twitter or RSS feed then this is probably the post you’ve been waiting for. After a couple of years of being beat up I’ve finally seen the light and found a way of getting top rankings in Google after the Penguin/Panda updates.
As I mentioned recently I’m back on the hunt for links, more importantly, links that count. First in my list of services to try out is the much hailed and sometimes talked about Link Emperor. Is it any good? Does it provide effective links? Will I be keeping my subscription?
Have you ever wanted to open up 2 windows from 1 click? Me too! Back in 2008 I signed up to a number of affiliate programs for one website where the landing page I wanted wasn’t a viable target for a referral URL. In other words I wanted to direct the visitor to a certain page whilst still getting credit if they did sign up so this required opening 2 windows from the 1 click. Sounds simple and it was but now in 2013 I’ve discovered I made a massive mistake that has cost me god only knows how many thousands of pounds.
Choosing to be included in Google’s search results has always been a decision about mutual benefits. Google gets a bigger index and you get more web traffic. We all win. This was also the case with Google’s image search but now thanks to some changes it’s gone from win-win to Google Win – Screw You.
